Bonding Over Breakfast: Chapter 1 Coming Soon!
About This Blog/Book
The Story
Without giving too much away, Bonding Over Breakfast is the story of 3 women as they learn how to navigate life together.
Adulthood is a challenging, wonderful, sometimes horrible, oftentimes terrifying, and rewarding experience. As the year's tick by it can feel as though we haven't accomplished anything at all; The imposter syndrome constantly weighing down on us trying to keep us from succeeding. The truth is, many of us never really know what we are doing until we've been thrown into the thick of it... Over, and over, and over again.
If we're lucky, our friends (or as I call them, "the family we get to choose") are there to help us get through it all. This is a story of overcoming turbulence and adversity... And a story of healing the inner child we all have.
We hope you'll join us as we learn how to maneuver this thing called life, and everything that it tries to throw at us.
We're all in this together.
The Author
Hi there! I'm Lindsy. If you're seeing this, welcome to our little corner of the internet. We're so happy to have you. <3
My inspiration for this ongoing project is one part fiction, two parts life experience, and a sprinkle of neurodiversity (Okay you got me, maybe a little more than a sprinkle).
My Goals For This Project
I'm going to share every step of the writing process with you. As edits happen, you'll be the first to know. As chapters finish (for better or for worse), you'll be the first to read them. Basically, this blog is one big interactive manuscript... So, don't be afraid to tell me what you think!
I have an initial word goal of about 50,000 words. The ultimate goal for me would be publication; either traditionally or via Amazon. When (and if) that happens, I would include extra chapters and an alternate ending. The physical book wouldn't include Sims 4 screenshots, of course... But maybe I could have someone create some illustrations. We're quite a ways off from that, though. :)
Why Sims 4?
The Sims 4 community has been such a warm and welcoming force. I thought that using Sims 4 to illustrate the online version of my book would be a fun way to include a game and community I have loved since I was a 7-year-old child with Sims 1. It also makes for some beautiful "illustrations." Sims 4 is a powerful tool; it's more than a game, it's an art form. It's truly amazing — and so are the people that play it.
How Can I Help?
Honestly? If you're reading this, I would be over the moon if you simply reached out to me and said hello... Don't be afraid to leave a comment below, reach out on Twitter, or shoot me an email. And if you're a fellow writer, I can always use more people to bounce ideas off of!
Of course, if you'd like to show your support in the form of coffee beans (my goldfish brain requires the bean juice)... Who would I be if I said no!? But please don't feel like you have to do this. A simple hello would give me the boost I need to keep writing. :)
Thank you from the bottom of my toasty heart. <3
